Supplemental Document Guidelines:Personal Statement
- Submit a personal statement up to 750 words and include the following:
• Why you want to further your education
• Your long- and short-term academic goals
• How the scholarship will help to attain your career
objectives; and
• How PVA has impacted you and your family.
Verification of
Enrollment - Confirmation of your enrollment, or other documentation, such
as an acceptance letter issued by the college or university , a class schedule, or similar documentation.
Academic Transcript
- A transcript must be submitted from the latest completed semester or quarter.
These
transcripts should include all of the courses you took and the grades and
credits you received from each course. The transcript must be stamped by your
school and have an official signature.
Two letters of
recommendation – These should be individuals who have first-hand knowledge
of your academic and/or work experience. These might include a school official,
teacher, commanding officer, employer, supervisor or other professional who can
speak to your commitment. Letters of recommendation may not come from family
members. *All letters of recommendation
must include a signature from the person writing the letter, and should be submitted on organizational letterhead.
All Files must be in PDF format, must be clearly titled (Personal Statement, Letter of Recommendation, etc, included in title), and must be legible. Please note: There is a 25 MB size limit a piece.
