Over 35 years ago, the Air Carrier Access Act
banned disability-based discrimination in air travel. Despite this ban,
paralyzed and disabled Veterans and other people with disabilities –
particularly wheelchair users – face significant air travel challenges,
including broken and lost wheelchairs; risk of injury during boarding and
deplaning; as well as lack of accessible restrooms.
Sign PVA’s petition to show your support for
accessible air travel and the Air Carrier Access Amendments Act. Add your voice
to the fight to ensure that airlines use planes that meet accessibility
standards for people with disabilities and that enforcement options are
improved. These reforms will ensure that disabled Veterans and people with
disabilities can fly much more safely.
